Defective Design

This item has a suggested initial cycle, running water through the machine to clean it before using it to make expresso. During this first use the locking ring in the brew head broke. The part was made of either hard plastic or pot metal and was obviously not sufficiently strong to withstand the pressure build up in the machine. I do not know if this experience is unique or common with this machine.
