great little kettle for the price

I've had this kettle for about 8 years and it works just fine. I use it on average 2 to 5 times a day. The whistle isn't quite as loud as it was in it's younger days, hence I've boiled it dry quite a few times, with no ill effects. The only drawbacks are the one quart capacity and dragging the cord around when I fill it. So, if you want an electric kettle for under $20, this is a good buy.

This kettle is very good. It is not large, and does not take up a lot of room on the counter. It does take a few minutes for it to boil. The whistle sounding when it is ready, is a very good feature
Bottom rusts out

The bottom section is painted steel. After a year of use, the bottom section paint started chipping away from the rusting steel underneath. For something that is used only 15 minutes each day with fresh water only, this is inexcusable. I had to stop using it because the rust started staining my counter. What a piece of junk.
