Great performance and easy to use

I tried to choose between the X3, the Starbucks Barista and this red X1. This is about $[money] more, but we finally couldn't resist the cool look compared to the Barista. The X3 might have been a better value, but I couldn't find one to look at in a real store and all the descriptions emphasized small and cheap.
We took the X1 out of the box two days ago and have been merrily making espresso, cappucino and lattes since. What I'm astonished by is that it goes from cold to ready to espresso temperature in under 90 seconds. I timed it just now. If you want to steam milk it goes to the higher required temperature just as quickly and is easy to cool back down to espresso temp by turning on the coffee switch and running water into your mug. Warms the mug in the process!
As previous reviews note, the whole process is three switches and two lights. If you use espresso pods, no more experience is needed.
This machine is an extravagance, no two ways about it. But the price for entry level machines is about $[money]. With this you get an obviously sturdy design, cool looks and incredible performance.
