Home / Coffee Recipes / Caffe' Valle d'AostaNorthern Italian coffee drink. by: Greg - My Nan could do better Important please read this disclaimer before proceeding to make this
drink. Ingredients • Grappa (alternative: Vodka) • White sugar • Orange rind • Eggnog • Quantro • Fresh espresso coffee Method Your going to set fire to the ingredients once there in your Grolla or bowl so a tight fitting lid for this is essential. 1. Add 4 glasses of red wine to your Grolla or bowl. 2. Add 4 shots of Grappa. 3. Stir in 1 table spoon of sugar. 4. Add a glass of Eggnog. 5. Add a glass of Quantro. 6. Add several strands of orange rind. 7. If your using a Grolla - carefully sprinkle sugar around the rim and drip Grappa over the sprinkled sugar. Then sprinkle more sugar over the Grappa. 8. Add 4 cups of espresso. Important: Have a damp cloth standing by before the next step to throw over your Grolla or bowl in case of accidents. 9. Then using a kitchen blowtorch or matches (and standing as far back as you can to be safe, making certain your head is no where near the Grolla or bowl) carefully set fire to the contents of the Grolla or bowl. 10. Put the lid on the Grolla or bowl when you think the contents are hot enough to extinguish the fire. No more than 30 seconds are required. If your not using a Grolla pour directly into cups and serve. Do you have a favorite original recipe that you'd like to share? Submit it here |
